Strutta Offices Overrun by Highschoolers

Strutta's headquarters, a famously chic space that overlooks Burrard Inlet and shares space with Bootup Labs, has been invaded by youth.

Five students from the SHAD Valley Program, interning for Impact Entrepreneurship Group, joined us here in the office today. Their first task? Get to work building their new desks:

The Bootup Labs blog has more detail on this influx of bright young minds to our Gastown headquarters.

China Reminds Us Who Invented Fireworks

It hasn't been announced yet, but we're ready to declare a winner in the 2008 HSBC Celebration of Light.

From where we were sitting, the show put on Wednesday night by China was downright incredible. Your humble author was scared for his life on a few occasions during their 25 minute show; surely a mark of a truly entertaining fireworks display. When the votes are tallied, it will come as no surprise to us when China takes the win.

Don't let all this chatter convince you, though. Check out the highlights of the footage from Wednesday night below, and then wander over to the Strutta game to cast your vote for your fave.

Photos from "Strutta Friday"

Friday afternoon saw the Strutta offices alive with conversation, as dozens of members of our beloved tech community graced us with their presence to enjoy a few tasty libations.

That is, we offered free beer and a crowd gathered. Much fun was had. Raul was on hand to photograph and blog the gathering; his photos are below in the slideshow. In case you hadn't heard, Raul wants you to follow him on Twitter
